Factory Automation

factory automation_2_(960x200)

At Conveyor Networks our team have the resource, knowledge and skills to complete major automation and control projects, often for mission critical systems that must work 24/7. With experience of designing and installing diverse systems, our skilled technicians specialise in catering for clients from concept to completion.

When working in the factory environment, safety is of paramount importance to us. That’s why you can be assured you are in safe hands as all our engineers are CCNSG accredited and we have achieved SAFE Contractor status. Our aim is to deliver your project on time, on budget and to have solved your factory automation problems.

Our expertise in factory automation covers;

System Architecture

Designing a complex system involves bringing together a number of different layers of design in a process known as layering. This is fundamental to ensure that at the various levels the appropriate controls can all communicate with each other properly. At Conveyor Networks we are experts in designing intelligent systems and understanding their complexities. We ensure that all aspects of the system can all speak to each other and function effectively. We are partners of major network suppliers such as Siemens (Profi-bus / ASi / ASiSafe) and Rockwell (Ethernet P / Controlnet / Devicenet).

Installation

We are specialists in advising on, modifying and implementing mechanical and electrical installation. On the mechanical side of things, we will install conveyors, machinery and steelwork. For electrical installation, we can install your electrical and control system and provide you with all the required test certificates such as IEE, NICEIC. Our strategic partnerships with Siemens and Rockwell give us access to the very best systems.

Software

At Conveyor Networks we are proud to have the in-house expertise to design and code control software. Our capabilities are across all types of interfaces, whether they be Operator or Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) or Graphical User Interfaces (GUI). Our Software engineers develop and in house test all PLC coding before delivery to site ensuring a smooth trouble free installation. We have also developed our own Interface Manager software which allows you to easily integrate your automated equipment with your existing business or order management systems to ensure data is captured and processed in the most efficient way. Interface Manager handles all the communication and data exchange required for your automated system to function in one simple interface which we manage so you don’t have to. It very simply brings together all technologies to provide your business with the complete solution. To find out more about Interface Manager click here.

Safety Management

We take safety seriously and safety management is built into everything we do. From pre-installation meetings, comprehensive risk assessments and production of method statements through to toolbox talks, our team are both highly experienced and highly qualified so you can be assured that you are in safe hands. For some of our clients we provide advice on health and safety issues relevant to their logistics and factory operations. We also carry out safety audits and risk assessments for them.

We are proud to be SAFE Contractor approved, members of SafetyNet and have also been independently audited to carry out Principal Contractor role. All our sub-contractors go through a rigorous vetting process to ensure that they have the required safety standards and everything we do complies with the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007.

System Commissioning

System commissioning is a crucial part of the process. Once we have installed a system we only hand it over to the client once a detailed predefined check of each element has taken place to ensure it is performing as expected. We believe that for this process to work effectively it must be a joint process with our client and we encourage full involvement throughout.

The commissioning process goes takes place at various levels, from the NICEIC electrical installation check to the input / output check to site acceptance testing which demonstrates that the installation is carrying out the job it is supposed to. Commissioning can also take place without product, a process known as ‘dry commissioning’ or with product, known as ‘wet commissioning.’

Asset Management

The majority of businesses we work with have rigorous reporting procedures against key performance indicators (KPIs). We believe that all our clients should be able to demonstrate the return on investment they have received from any system we have installed and we work with clients to build reporting processes into a system so data can be easily obtained. We will happily discuss longer term asset management needs with clients which may include provision of spare parts or a ‘1st aid kit’ of spares and 24/7 service contracts for mission critical systems.
